I chose one of my most favourite quotes for today. It’s actually based on a passage in Bible, but you’ve got to agree, compressing the whole passage into one prefect sentence is impressive:
Then again, lots of other things Woody Allen said or did are impressive. Even if we take into consideration just his quotes – hard to choose from so many.
What about your plans? Ever working out? Mine don’t. Like, 80% of the time, mostly every major plan I have works out in an absolutely unpredictable way. We were planning to move back to China, instead moved to Czech Republic (never even thought about moving here before). We thought we would stay longer in China, instead we moved to Moscow. We thought, we would move back to London, instead we moved to China. I thought, I would work longer in London, instead I got married and moved to Germany. So random! Yet, I wouldn’t have it any other way now.
This actually reminds me of another quote (so it will be two instead of one today): “We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” (Joseph Campbell). Maybe it’s true, we can’t predict it all, we don’t know how things are meant to be, so all we could do is brace the change and try to make the best of it.
I’m submitting this post for Silver Threading’s Writer’s Quote Wednesday event.
