Integration Centre for Foreigners in Pardubice

Today I visited an Integration Centre for Foreigners in Pardubice. I talked to a friendly advisor, Ivona Baklíková, who told me about their centre and how they can help people settling here.

I came to their office with my kids and was happy to see that they have a play corner there, so that gave me some almost quiet time to actually chat to Ivona and her colleagues. They arrange a lot of interesting events for families. For example, there’s a free course of Czech language for mothers, where moms can study while their children play in a room next door with another teacher. I’d go there just for an hour and a half of non-kids related activity and socialising with other ladies :) It takes place on Mondays from 10 till 11:30 at Xanada Dance & Art centrum, Pod Břízkami 800, Pardubice. Please, contact teacher Jana (tel. 604 800 551) for more information.

Their purpose is to provide integration services to newcomers from countries outside the EU, however, I was told that if an EU citizen wishes to get information from them, they would, of course, help out as well.

There’re different workshops, concerts, events, meetings taking place at their premises on Pernerova street and at other venues. You can check the program of events on their site or follow the Facebook group for news updates.

  1. […] I’ve already written before about a great work done by the local Integration Centre for Foreigners in Pardubice. We went with the kids to a workshop, where we made Christmas decorations, and later to a Christmas Party, where the Centre arranged lots of interesting activities for the little ones. You can find an introductory post I’ve written about this Centre and their contact details here. […]
